Who needs a reservation at a stuffy restaurant when you can enjoy the romance and ambiance of Atria Tanglewood’s annual “Cupid’s Café”? 

Each Valentine’s Day, the couples living at Atria Tanglewood in Lynbrook get to enjoy a lovely lunch served by the staff as a way to ensure that they are getting to enjoy Valentine’s Day as they had prior to moving to the Assisted Living Facility, according to Laura Nappi, Engage Life Director at Atria.

"With romantic background music, as well as heart-shaped champagne glasses, the staff at Atria makes sure that the couples get to spend time with each other, something that is important for them not only on Valentine’s Day, but every day," Nappi said.

In addition, all of the residents at Atria will celebrate throughout the day with musical entertainment coming both in the afternoon and evening, as well as a chance to socialize and have savory refreshments, such as chocolate covered strawberries and champagne.

Last year, Atria also co-sponsored a Valentine's Day event at the Lynbrook recreation center which included food, live music, decorations, and raffles. The event drew over 100 seniors.

"Valentine’s Day is just another excuse for the staff at Atria Tanglewood to express to the residents here how important they are," Nappi said.
