Jan. 27: Former Jets Player Visits Local School

A look at today's events and announcements for your community.

 

 

  • Former NY Jets player Greg Buttle with be visiting Waverly Park School at 10am. Buttle played nine seasons for the Jets, starting at outside linebacker. According to parent Laurie Bohn, Buttle will be speaking about the importance of education even if you are a star athlete. Check back with us for the story Monday.
  • Chasers Bar and Grill in East Rockaway has music from the band Jupiter Fell at 10 p.m. "The band will be making its East Rockaway debut, don't miss this special night! 5$ @ the door, 3 sets of music will be played featuring music from many genres! Check out our Facebook page for more information."
  • Temple Am Echad Gospel Shabbat will be held at 7:15 p.m. The Voices of Victory, the gospel choir from St. John's University, under the direction of Nigel W. Gretton, will be performing modern arrangements representing "the cutting edge " of contemporary gospel music.
  • Check back today for a story on local business specials for the Super Bowl next Sunday.
  • East Rockaway Recreation hosts "Game Night" for grades 7-9 tonight at 7 p.m. "Come down and play cool games with your friends in the East Rockaway High School small gym."
